Into the 9th edition of BPL and we still see the clownery that no modern first edition T20 tournament would present.

The fans have rightfully dubbed this edition of the BPL tournament as “Binodon Premier League”. Many would wonder why the fans of a country would troll their own T20 franchise league. One look at the state of it would be enough of an explanation.

This year's BPL is the tournament's 9th edition. At this point, one will find that any proper T20 franchise league will present only the best. Yet the minds behind the tournament have shown not something just below par, but something that you will not even see in tournaments arranged by schools. Starting from the broadcasting, where you won't have any TV channels properly broadcast to the kind of foreign players that normally get no teams in their country's franchise leagues. Even the players themselves are tired of this, as we know from the comments that our country's premier all-rounder has passed.

Even foreign players have started taking the mickey, where the use of ADRS has brought nothing but ridicule. What even is the ADRS, if not the culmination of technology and the failure of getting capable umpires on the field. But can you blame these umpires? When all their career they have been told to give a certain decision by powers above their station.

Shakib Al Hasan has been asked to be the CEO of the BPL committee, in reply to which he has said that he would choose to be the president instead. That might just be the only way to help Bangladesh Cricket in improving its infrastructure and produce quality players fit for the national stage.
